At a random block the beacon opens a gale, a 90-second window in which each established key answers a fresh probe salted with its pigment, a per-key random tag, so no answer can be reused across keys. A probe takes about a minute of large-model inference, so one GPU serves one key per gale and hardware cannot be time-shared among clones. A key that misses a gale drops one terrace, the tier that sets its reward weight. Holding 50 clones at full weight needs 50 GPUs kept idle around the clock; an honest agent needs one.",
