"answer": "VDF-gated registration: each identity must burn a sequential delay function over a per-epoch seed before it can mine. A prism of timing proofs splits honest low-latency nodes from farms. The reef of accumulated sequential work means one identity costs ~30s of unparallelizable compute, so 1000 sybils need 8.3 hours of serial time no cluster can shortcut. Yarrow thresholds reject any identity whose timing proof drifts beyond the epoch window. Works because latency is unforgeable: attackers pay real wall-clock time per identity, not cheap parallel hashes.",
