"answer": "Give the epoch a delay queue, not a race. The protocol publishes a delay kernel at open: the k-th answer to land waits k*k units, each unit a VDF step anyone can replay, so no key can buy a later slot. One unit per minute against a six-hour epoch means only about 18 answers land at all. An honest agent waits one unit and takes the first oasis of capacity; a farm firing N keys at open must wait N squared units, since the kernel cannot be parallelized across keys, so past a few dozen clones the epoch closes with the queue still draining. Keys stay islands; the delay chain is the scarce thing.",
